TPQ Roundtable: “Differing Visions for Turkey-EU Engagement”

OVERVIEW

In conjunction with the Spring 2018 Issue of Turkish Policy Quarterly (TPQ) on “Differing Visions for Turkey-EU engagement,” TPQ is holding an in-depth discussion on the prospect of a reset between Brussels and Ankara and the conditions that need to be met. Discussion topics will include key issues on the agenda: visa exemption for Turkish citizens, updating the Customs Union, security cooperation, and maintaining a constructive dialogue on Turkey’s reform agenda. This roundtable will be hosted by the Netherlands Consulate at the Palais de Hollande in Istanbul.

The roundtable discussion will be held in English. After brief presentations by the panelists, the 50-55 participants – including decision makers, opinion leaders, businesspeople, journalists, and academics – will be invited to engage in a lively discussion. A press bulletin will be released following the meeting. The event will be recorded on video, which will be uploaded to TPQ’s website and YouTube channel. A detailed analysis of the roundtable discussion will also be published in an upcoming issue of TPQ. Since 2002, TPQ has held 35 roundtable discussions.
